Orthopedic Memory Foam Dog Bed

Better sleep, less joint pain — the only dog bed built to the same foam spec as human orthopedic mattresses.

Free shipping over $75 30-day returns 1-year warranty

Most dog beds collapse after six months. That's a design choice — your dog's joints aren't considered. The Fetra bed starts with the same open-cell memory foam used in human orthopedic products. It doesn't bottom out under weight, and it returns to full shape after every use.

The cover is linen-blend, not fleece. Fleece traps heat and smell. Linen breathes, washes clean, and doesn't pill. The zipper runs the full perimeter so the cover comes off in four seconds, not four minutes of wrestling.

This is the product referenced in the Fetra story from day one — the anchor SKU. It ships in one box, assembles in thirty seconds, and lasts years longer than anything you'll find at a pet chain.

Size guide — find your dog's fit

M30×22 in25–50 lbsBorder Collie, Bulldog, Whippet

Ideal for senior dogs, dogs with hip dysplasia, and any breed prone to joint issues. When in doubt, go one size up — foam that's slightly too large is better than foam your dog overhangs.

Common questions

Delivery is 7–12 business days from your order date. Your order ships from our US-based supply partner's warehouse, where every item is quality-checked before dispatch. You'll get a tracking link by email once it ships. Expedited shipping is not currently offered — we'd rather give you an honest timeline than an optimistic one we can't hit.
30 days from delivery. The bed must be returned in original packaging with the cover unwashed. If your dog has used it and it smells, we can't resell it — so returns are for situations where the size is wrong or the product isn't what you expected, not for post-use regret. Email hello@fetra.com to start a return.
The foam core is open-cell memory foam — the same density class used in human orthopedic mattresses. No fillers, no cheap poly-fill padding under a thin foam cap. The cover is a linen-cotton blend (55% linen, 45% cotton) with a rubberized PVC base. No flame retardants, no synthetic fragrances, no known allergens in the materials we source.
Yes. Unzip the perimeter zipper, pull the cover off, wash cold or warm (up to 60°C / 140°F), tumble dry low. Do not bleach. The linen-cotton blend does not shrink at these temperatures if you bought it in the right size. Do not machine-wash the foam insert — spot-clean only, air-dry completely before re-covering.
Yes — this is the primary use case we designed for. The open-cell foam distributes weight across the full contact surface rather than concentrating pressure on hip sockets and elbows. It's not a medical device and we're not veterinarians. But reducing pressure-point contact during sleep is a straightforward mechanical benefit that orthopedic foam provides for humans too. If your dog has a diagnosed joint condition, ask your vet if a supportive foam bed is appropriate — most will say yes.
The XL size handles dogs up to 130 lbs without bottoming out. If you have a dog over 130 lbs, email us before ordering — we can confirm whether the current foam density is appropriate or whether you should wait for the XXL we're planning.
Big Barker is the main competitor worth naming. Their foam is good. Their covers are fleece, which traps heat and odor — our linen cover is better for warm climates and dogs that run hot. Casper's dog bed is a marketing bed, not an orthopedic product — it's a cushion with brand equity, not high-density foam. On price, Fetra sits between the two. We're not the cheapest option; we're the one with the better cover material and the same foam quality at a lower price than the market leader.
Open-cell foam is more breathable than closed-cell, which helps. The linen cover adds further temperature regulation. That said, memory foam does retain some body heat compared to raised cots or cooling mats. If you have a dog that overheats easily (brachycephalic breeds, older dogs in summer), a cooling mat on top is a better first solution — don't use the bed as your only summer cooling strategy.

Early customer feedback

These are real responses from our first customers — no star counts, no invented names.

"Our 11-year-old lab has hip dysplasia. She stopped getting up slowly in the morning after about a week on this bed. I don't know if it's the foam or just luck, but I'm not switching back."

— Lab owner, Portland OR
Early customer feedback

"I've bought three dog beds in two years. The covers always destroyed in the wash. This one came out of our second wash looking exactly the same. That alone is worth the price."

— Two-dog household, Austin TX
Early customer feedback

"Got the XL for our 95-lb German Shepherd. He picked it over the couch within two days. The non-slip base actually works — it hasn't moved once on our hardwood."

— German Shepherd owner, Chicago IL
